Well-established Law Firm in downtown Mississauga is seeking a Creditors' Rights Lawyer or Paralegal to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirement: Must have experience in the field of Creditors' Rights/Collections. Experience could be in the Collections field as a lawyer, paralegal, articling student, or previous debt collector.
- Reviewing files for legal action and next steps;
- Reviewing and responding to correspondence;
- Preparing litigation documents including claims, settlement conference briefs, trial briefs, terms of settlement and motion;
- Managing escalated matters and complaints;
- Assisting staff with complex issues;
- Outbound/Inbound communications and negotiations;
- Some court attendance may be required ;
- Post-judgment collections/enforcement i.e. judgment debtor examinations, garnishment hearings, etc;
- Legal research

- Experience with major financial institutions is beneficial
